Waking up anxious about your child's middle school experience robs you of valuable positive energy. Follow these three steps to an anxiety-free middle school year.

Waking up every morning feeling tense about your child's middle school experience is not the way to live through the next few years.

Identify the source of your anxiety. Do your son's friends or lack thereof cause you sleepless nights? Did the arrival of your daughter's progress report send the family into hysterics? Have the afternoon hours become an endless series of car rides from one activity to the next? Are you having a difficult time remembering the last family dinner?

Envision what you want. The Secret as detailed in the book by the same name encourages readers to use the law of attraction to alter their current reality. If you want more time together as a family envision what this would look like. What steps would you need to take to create to bring the family together more often? When will you begin pursuing what you want?

Take action today. Most goals and vision statements rest on the shelf, gathering dust. Commit yourself to taking action today on one item that will bring you closer to your vision.
